2008, The year of the Frog. Amphibians facing extinction.
October 7th, 2008
A deadly disease is threatening our Amphibian species this is why 2008 has been declared the “YEAR OF THE FROG”… Amphibians need our help!
In addition to habitat loss, climate change, pollution, and other factors…a deadly disease is threatening almost half of the Amphibian species with extinction. The disease is Chytridiomycosis caused by a fungus called Batrachochytrium dendrobatidis (Bd).
Amphibians are an integral part of our global ecosystem, and unless we act now, we could be facing one of the largest extinctions since the time of the dinosaurs.
